
Leadership and Faculty
We have been blessed with a number of well-qualified people in abundance, whether in administration, in the classroom, or behind the scenes. All of our administration have extensive experience in both local ministry and in academia. The faculty brings not only education in the field of ministry but also many years of experience practicing principles learned in local congregations and in the mission field, making them well-suited not only as teachers for the classroom but also as mentors for life.
Executive Director

Kevin Rhodes, Executive Director
Kevin W. Rhodes is the Executive Director of the Brown Trail School of Preaching, taking the school’s helm in 2018. Kevin is a graduate of Midwest School of Biblical Studies, the University of Central Missouri (B.S. in History), West Texas A&M University (M.A. in History). Tarleton State University (M.A. in Political Science), and West Texas A&M University (M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology). He is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program for Biblical Studies at Amridge University. He is the host of the television program Expositions on the Gospel Broadcasting Network and served as the co-editor of Sound Words with His father, Oran Rhodes. He has preached for more than 30 years in Missouri, Alabama, and Texas, preaching for the Granbury Street congregation in Cleburne, Texas for fifteen years. He has done mission work in Cape Town, South Africa and Queretero, Mexico. He conducts gospel meetings, singing schools, and a variety of workshops, addressing marriage, Bible study, leadership, and preaching. He has authored several books that his new publisher, Glad Tidings Publishing, is bringing back into print, including How to Study the Bible: A Practical Guide to Biblical Hermeneutics, What God Hath Joined Together: The Beauty of Christian Marriage, a three-book series for new Christians including Follow Me: A Call to Authentic Discipleship, and is currently writing a series of Old Testament devotional books. He is also editing his translation of the New Testament. Kevin and his wife, Tracy, have been married since 1992 and have two daughters.

Pat McIntosh, Academic Dean
Pat graduated Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1989. Post-graduation, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (1995), a Master of Science (1998), a Master of Divinity (2001), and a Doctor of Ministry (2006) from Amridge University. He served eight years as Assistant Director of the Extensions Program at the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver, three years with World Bible Institute as Vice President of Academic Affairs, and four years as the Dean of Students at Brown Trail School of Preaching. Since 2018, Pat has served as the Academic Dean for Brown Trail. In addition to this work, he serves as the Associate Minister for the Granbury Street church of Christ in Cleburne, Texas. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been married since 1980; they have three children and four grandchildren.

Neil Stidolph, Dean of Students
Neil graduated from the Brown Trail School of Preaching in 2020 and began preaching full-time in 2021 at the Bowie Street church of Christ in Wellington, Texas. He graduated with his Master of Divinity from Heritage Christian University in May of 2025 and plans to pursue a PhD in biblical studies. Neil also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and an MBA from Freed-Hardeman University, from which he graduated in 2017. In addition to preaching full-time since 2021, he has also spoken on several summer series and gospel meetings and has served as a camp counselor at multiple brotherhood Bible camps since 2014. He began his work as an instructor at Brown Trail School of Preaching in June 2025 when he also became the new Dean of Students. Neil has been married to his wife, Alyssa, since 2022.

Willie A. Alveranga, Spanish Department Director
Willie is a 2001 graduate of the Brown Trail School of Preaching. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Heritage Christian University (2016) and a Master of Arts in New Testament from Amridge University (2020). He has published more than thirty-five books in both Spanish and English and has preached the gospel in Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico, and the USA. Since its inception in 2004, Willie has served as both an instructor and as the Spanish Department Director at Brown Trail School of Preaching. In addition to this work, he has served as the pulpit minister for the Brown Trail Iglesia de Cristo since December 2022. Willie and his wife, Lucy, have been married since 1997. They have two daughters and two granddaughters.

Roy Gafford, Dean of Admissions
Roy holds a Bachelor of Science (1987) and a Master of Science (1988) from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Criswell College (1999). He has done further graduate work at Midwestern State University and is ABD at the University of North Texas in Educational Administration. Roy taught and coached for twenty-five years in Texas and has been recognized by the Texas High School Coaches Association for his achievements as a Coach in track and Field. Additionally, he served for a time as the Superintendent of Wichita Christian School in Wichita Falls, Texas. Roy preached for more than twenty-one years and has worked as both an instructor and as the Dean of Students at Brown Trail since 2018. He has acted as the Dean of Admissions since 2025. In addition to his duties at Brown Trail, Roy has served as an elder for the Crandall church of Christ since 2011. Roy and his wife, Bonnie, have been married since 1988. They have three children and one granddaughter.

Heath Stapleton, Development Director
Heath attended Ohio Valley College, David Lipscomb University, and Christian Bible University. He taught at Chimala School of Preaching (now Chimala Bible Institute) in Tanzania from 1996-2004 and at Brown Trail School of Preaching from 2005-2007 before returning to teach from 2015 to the present. He has served as Development Director since 2017. He and his wife Rebecca have been married since 1994 and have two children.
Faculty

Bill Burk
Bill graduated from Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1993. He received his Bachelor of Theology degree from South African Theological Seminary in 2024. He began full-time preaching with the church in Rendon, Texas, in 1994 and later worked with the church of Christ in Seagoville, Texas. Since 2011, Bill has preached for the church of Christ in Crandall, Texas. He frequently speaks on workshops and lectureships and conducts gospel meetings. Bill has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 1995. He has three daughters and has been married to his wife, Leda, since 2013.

Will Cammack
Will worked for many years in business management. He then left the business world to start his own venture but became distracted with personal evangelism and peer counseling of faithful Christians. This led him to return to school to better understand mental health and to improve his ability to help individuals in their environments. Will subsequently graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Social Work (2014) and a Masters of Social Work (2016) specializing in mental health and substance abuse. Will has worked with survivors of domestic violence at One Safe Place. He has also worked at My Health My Resources (MHMR) on the Intensive Support Team and Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams and was a certified member of their Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team. Will has served as an instructor at Brown Trail since 2019. He and his wife, Michele, have two children.

Joey Davis
Joey is a 2004 graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in the United States Air Force for twelve years with a background in law enforcement and information technology. Joey graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems from the Community College of the Air Force (2000) and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Amridge University (2005). Additionally, he received a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University (2021), a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University (2023), and is currently pursuing a Masters in Biblical Studies from Bear Valley Bible Institute. Joey is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) and is working toward full licensure (LPC). He has been preaching since 2002. In that time, he has worked with multiple congregations in Tennessee and Texas. Since 2011, he has served with the church in Roanoke, Texas. Joey has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2024. He and his wife, Pamela, have three children and two grandchildren.

Robert Dodson
Robert graduated from the Preston Road School of Preaching in 1978. He preached two and a half years in Houston, Texas, eight and a half years in Sansom Park, Texas, and over 20 years for the Birdville congregation in Haltom City, Texas. Robert has preached for the Northwest congregation in Fort Worth since 2010. In addition, he speaks at numerous lectureships and gospel meetings each year and has participated in mission campaigns in Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Africa, Singapore, and the Philippines. Robert has been an instructor at Brown Trail School of Preaching since 1990. He received an honorary diploma from Brown Trail in 2018 for his many years of service to the school. He and his wife, Sherry, have two sons and nine grandchildren.

Ken Gardner
Ken graduated from Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M University (1977) and a Master of Science in History from East Texas State University (now East Texas A&M University) in 1996, having previously taught at that institution (1989-1991). Ken has participated in campaigns in England and Mexico, and he also has taught at the preacher training school in Querétaro, Mexico. He has preached for congregations in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and Talco, Texas. Since 1991, he has preached for the Plano East church of Christ in Plano, Texas. Ken has been serving as one of the elders there for many years. He has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2004. He and his wife, Belinda, have three sons and seven grandchildren.

Caleb Griffith
Caleb graduated from Brown Trail in 2023 with a Bachelor of Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Ministry. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Heritage Christian University in May 2025 and is currently pursuing a Master of Ministry in Homiletics (which he should receive by 2027). From 2017-2021, Caleb worked as a volunteer production assistant for the Give Me the Bible and The Truth in Love television programs. He also produced the Zeal for Your House blog, contributing over 100 articles, as well as the Zeal for Your House and From God’s Heart to Mine podcasts, recording nearly fifty episodes. Since 2022, Caleb has worked with Camp Ida Christian Youth Camp in Maud, Texas, as a counselor, teacher, and activities director. He has guest preached in numerous congregations across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee, and spoken on several lectureships and workshops, including Polishing the Pulpit (Branson, Missouri), Focal Point (San Marcos, Texas), and Make Me a Servant (Mount Vernon, Texas). He began preaching for the Clark Road church of Christ in Duncanville, Texas, in August 2023. His ministry responsibilities include regular sermons and Bible classes, evangelism, and a weekly men’s leadership training class. Caleb began working with the Brown Trail School of Preaching in June 2023 as a field representative and teaching assistant. He is also the founder and coordinator of the Brown Trail STEP Program.

John Haffner
John grew up in Trenton, Texas, and is a 2010 graduate of the Southwest School of Bible Studies in Austin, Texas. After graduation, he preached for the LaPoinor church of Christ in Poinor, Texas; since 2019, John has served as the pulpit minister for the Granbury Street church of Christ in Cleburne, Texas. He has worked with World Video Bible School (WVBS) to create an online video Bible study series and has labored as a counselor, instructor, and co-director for Camp Ida in Maud, Texas. John has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2022. He and his wife, Hanna, were married in 2012 and have been blessed with two sons.

J.J. Hendrix
J.J. graduated from Brown Trail School of Preaching in 2010. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Henderson State University (2005) and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Harding University (2007). He has been preaching since 2007, laboring with congregations in Oklahoma and Texas as well as directing or assisting with several youth events. J.J. directed the Leadership Session at Camp Ida in Maud, Texas, for many years and currently directs the Leadership session at Quartz Mountain Christian Camp in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. He also serves as a Co-Convention Director of the Lads to Leaders Texas Convention and as an instructor in the Lambs Academy of Biblical Studies located in Winnsboro, Texas. Since 2023, J.J. has been serving as the pulpit minister for the Azle church of Christ in Azle, Texas. He has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2018. J.J. and his wife, Lisa (Stapleton), have five children.

Bryan Hodge
Bryan graduated from Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1993. He has done mission work in, or taken mission trips to: Panama, Jamaica, India, Ghana, the United Kingdom, and Alaska. He conducts elders-deacons-preachers workshops, men's public service workshops, and personal evangelism workshops at both the Kakinada School of Preaching and the Philologus School of Preaching (Srikakulam) in India. Bryan has spoken on lectureships, conducted gospel meetings in several states, and participated in various debates. Since 2014, he has preached at the Youngsport church of Christ in Killeen, Texas, and Bryan has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2017. He and his wife, Melinda, have three grown children and three grandchildren (with another on the way).

Richard Massey
Richard graduated from the Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1981. He has been preaching for forty-five years for congregations in Oklahoma and Texas, and he also has worked overseas in England, Jamaica, and the Philippines. Additionally, Richard has labored since 2005 with the Windmill church of Christ near Weatherford, Texas, and he has served as one of her elders for over seventeen years. He began teaching at Brown Trail in 1990, took a hiatus in 2003, and resumed his work as an instructor in 2018. Richard is married to Cathy, and together they have three sons and six grandchildren.

John O'Dell
John is a 2005 graduate of the West Virginia School of Preaching and a 2022 graduate of the MOST program at the Memphis School of Preaching. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Amridge University (with a projected graduation date of December 2025). He has preached in New Lexington, Ohio, in Washington Court House, Ohio, and in Evans, Georgia. Since 2022, he has served as the Youth and Family Minster for the Brown Trail church of Christ in Bedford, Texas. John has conducted gospel meetings in multiple states and made two mission trips to Costa Rica. He became an instructor at Brown Trail in 2022. John has been supported in his work by the love of his faithful wife and best friend, Rachel, since they married in 2014.

Jason Sparks
Jason graduated from the Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1999. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Interpretation from Faulkner University in 2004 and a Master of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Phoenix in 2006. Jason has special interests in personal growth and evangelism, and he has extensive television and radio experience; he directed The Truth in Love television program for five years (2014-2019). He also worked with Green Valley Bible Camp from 2003-2022 and served for many of those years as a director. Jason has taken mission trips to both Russia and Kenya, and he has served as the pulpit minister for the church of Christ in Caddo Mills, Texas, since 2019. Jason has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2015. He and his wife, Karla, have two children.

Jeremy Sprouse
Jeremy graduated from Bear Valley Bible Institute in 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Adams State University (2001) and a Master of Biblical Studies from Bear Valley (2010). Originally from Kansas, Jeremy grew up in southeastern Colorado. He has served the Lord in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and now Texas. Since 2011, he has labored as the minister for the Patrick Street church of Christ in Dublin, Texas, and he has written a father-son devotional book entitled To Train Up a Knight. Jeremy began teaching at Brown Trail in 2018. He and his wife, Erynn, have six children.

Wade Webster
Wade is a graduate of Memphis School of Preaching (1989). He holds both a Bachelor of Arts (1991) and a Master of Arts (1992) in English from Jacksonville State University. He served briefly as an adjunct professor there and has additionally taught at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. Wade has served as the editor for The Power Journal (a monthly periodical), as the director of the annual Power Lectures, as the editor of the annual Power Lectureship book, and as a contributor for several other brotherhood publications. He has preached for congregations in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas. Wade is also heavily involved in mission work throughout Central America and Mexico. Between 2015-2019, he was active in the work of Utmost Missions (College Station, Texas). Since 2020, he has served as the minister for the church of Christ in Bridgewater (Katy, Texas). Wade has been an instructor at Brown Trail since 2020. He and his wife, Jennifer, have four children.
Women's Faculty

Cheryl McIntosh, Program Coordinator
Cheryl graduated in 1983 from Tarleton State University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She has been a preacher's wife for thirty-five years. During that time Cheryl has taught children's classes and ladies' Bible classes in several locations. She has also accompanied her husband on numerous mission trips and has taught children's classes and seminars to the women of various congregations in Jamaica, Tanzania, and Ukraine. Cheryl has been an instructor in the Wives’ Program at Brown Trail since 2009 and has served as its Program Coordinator since 2011. She and her husband, Pat, have been married since 1980; they have three children and four grandchildren.

Kathy Carroll
Kathy received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Abilene Christian University (1989) and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Texas A & M University (1993). Prior to motherhood she worked six years in Texas public schools teaching mathematics and computer science. After happily home schooling her own two children, she returned to the classroom to join the adjunct faculty at Tarrant County College in their Math Department. Kathy has been an elder’s wife since her husband took on that role at Brown Trail in 2012. She enjoys teaching children, teen girls, and women. She hosts weekly Bible studies and continues to teach for various classes, retreats, camps, and ladies’ days. Kathy has taught in the Wives’ Program at Brown Trail since 1999, having served several of those years as its Program Coordinator (2002-2005). She and her husband, Kevin, have been married since 1988 and have two children.

Stephanie Griffith
Stephanie attended Abilene Christian University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (1992). She worked as an elementary school teacher for eight years and during that time taught first, second, and fourth grades. She has been teaching Bible class since 1990. Stephanie and her family have been worshipping with the congregation at Brown Trail since 2001. In that time, she has taught many children’s classes in the Brown Trail Bible Class program, and she has been teaching the weekly Ladies’ Bible Class there since 2015. Stephanie has been an instructor in the Wives’ Program at Brown Trail School of Preaching since 2010. She and her husband, Robert, have been married since 1995, and they have three children.

Lisa Puckett
Lisa graduated from Rice University in 1994 where she earned a degree in Biochemistry and French. She has taught high school chemistry and algebra as well as many other lab sciences. Lisa and her husband homeschooled their children, during which time Lisa did additional teaching with an area homeschool group. She has taught children’s Bible classes for many years and enjoys teaching ladies’ classes whenever opportunities arise. She has years of experience as an elder’s wife as her husband has served in that capacity since 2014 at the Colleyville church of Christ in Colleyville, Texas. Lisa taught in the Wives’ Program at Brown Trail from 2003-2005, took a hiatus, and has been teaching once again since 2013. She and her husband, Grant, have been married since 1993 and have three children.

Tracy Rhodes
Tracy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 from Harding University where she majored in vocal music with a Bible minor. She officially graduated from the Preacher Wives Program at Midwest School of Biblical Studies in 1998. Tracy is married to Kevin Rhodes, the Executive Director of the Brown Trail School of Preaching. She has been a preacher’s wife for more than thirty years, teaching Bible classes for children and ladies of all ages, speaking on ladies’ programs on occasion, and counseling as needs arose. Besides supporting her husband in his work, she dedicated herself to homeschooling their children. In 2018, after many years laboring in local work with congregations in Missouri, Alabama, and Texas, their family moved to the DFW area when Kevin began serving at Brown Trail. In 2025, Tracy began working as the Assistant to the Executive Director at Brown Trail School of Preaching. She has been an instructor in the Wives’ Program at Brown Trail since 2019. She and Kevin have been married since 1992 and have two daughters.
